Poverty usually goes hand in hand with other issues especially violence. This makes Salvadorans part of the highest number of people currently coming into the United States. I left El Salvador at the age of twenty, I always ask myself if I would go back, it is a beautiful country filled with hard working people. Despite its beauty it lacks in the realm of opportunity. Its very hard to change your life, as education is not a requirement, and the possibilities of going on to get a higher education and succeeding without having the right connections are very low. People in first world countries like the US sometimes forget that this country was founded by immigrants. Many people don’t have a concept of what living in poverty truly is. It is hard to grasp the idea of living under the poverty line. Some choose to stay while others leave.
